Making your own soy candles, Continued.

Glue Gun:
The glue gun is to glue the wick tabs to the bottom of your glass containers. Any glue gun will do.
Scale:
You will need some kind of scale. It doesn't need to be an expensive one but you need it to weigh your Soy Wax and
your fragrance oil. Soy Wax weighs the same whether it's in flake form, melted, or solid.
Wooden Dowl:
Buy a 1/4" wooden dowl, cut a12 to 14" length. You will use this to stir your melting Soy Wax and all the other ingredients. Also cut a couple of 4" lengths. You'll use these to hold your wicks straight while your Soy Candle is setting.
Now that you have everything you need, it's time to have some fun. Let's make a Soy Candle!
First, let's get your glass containers ready. Make sure they're clean and dry. If you bought your wick in a length, you will have to
attach a wick tab to one end. Next glue the wick tab to the bottom, center of the container and let the glue dry. After the glue
dries, tie the other end of your wick to the 4" wooden dowl. the wooden dowl will sit across the glass container. Make sure your
wick is taut and straight. Now that your container is ready, let's move on to the next step.
Next put your melting pot on your scale and zero it out (tare). Add 16 oz. of Soy Wax flakes. Fill your old sauce pan halfway with
water, put it on your stove, put your melting pot with your Soy Wax into the sauce pan. Turn the heat up about half way (you don't
want your Soy wax to melt too fast until you get used to making Soy Candles). Attach your thermometer to the side of your melting
Pot. You want the bottom of your thermometer to be submerged in the melting Soy Wax for a proper reading.
